Your turn!

March 25, 2011

It’s been a great week here at Scripture Dig!

  • Monday, Sandra helped us dig into the original languages and taught us about our Deliverer!
  • Tuesday, Kathy gave us some great insight into the cultural background and intent of what was happening at the threshing floor.
  • Wednesday, Stephanie looked at Ruth and gave us a beautiful sketch of Biblical femininity in Scripture.
  • Thursday, we dug into Biblical masculinity and how godly men like Boaz are the real “manly men.”

It’s Friday, which means it’s your turn!

What has stuck out to you the most as you read through Ruth chapter 3? Has one of these topics resonated with you, or was there something else that has been deeply meaningful to you in your own studies?

Like we discussed in the “manly men” post, I’m always struck my Boaz’s reaction to finding Ruth at his feet. He acts respectfully, honorably, and kindly. Plus, rather than immediate take Ruth as his wife, he still takes the appropriate (of the time and culture) action of consulting the “kinsmen-redeemer” of even closer relation first.

Ruth’s willingness to trust and follow through with Noami’s plan catches my attention too. Anytime someone trusts in a situation where fear or doubt could run rampant warrants reflection.

Thank you all for your wonderful insights to this Ruth series!
